Creating volume failed during install

  I get the following error during the final stages of install:

  Windows Home Server Setup Error:

  Creating volume failed: Catastrophic failure(error code 0x8000ffff).

  I can see all the drives in MMC and My Computer.  How do I finish getting any version of WHS on this new h/w?  I tried with Vail beta for 4 straight days with error after error, I even corrupted the data on my external and lost it all.  So now I try and install v1 on this h/w and now more errors.  What is the magic trick to get either version of this OS to play nice with new h/w?
