DefaultAppPool cannot create performance counters RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have a WSCL that needs to create some performance counters.   We are using IIS7.5 and later.

The error is simply "Requested registry access is not allowed."

I've seen several solutions but none seem to work -

Adding default App pool to registry keys does not work

    Adding IUSR  does not work

Adding Apppool to Power Users group does not work.

WHAT works in IIS7.5?   Does it have to be impersonation?  No, this is on the local machine.

    Thank in advance.
