[SOLVED] No backup possible (ClientVSSProblem) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

    during the last 9 days I was trying to solve my problem: I cannot backup my Win7 x64 Client on my WHS 2011.

    It always breaks after ~10 minutes and I get a syslog event saying:

    Protokollname: WSSG
    Quelle: Windows Server
    Datum: 03.01.2012 21:17:12
    Ereignis-ID: 514
    Aufgabenkategorie:Backup
    Ebene: Fehler

    Computer: ASB-Core-i7-01
    Beschreibung:
    Der Sicherungsauftrag 1 auf "ASB-SRV-01" war nicht erfolgreich. Grund: ClientVssProblem, System.String[]
    Ereignis-XML:

    <System>

    <Security />
    </System>
    <EventData>
    <Data>1</Data>
    <Data>ASB-SRV-01</Data>
    <Data>ClientVssProblem, System.String[]</Data>
    </EventData>
    </Event>

    I know that this is a very common problem, probably listed several hundred times on Google. But none of the solutions worked for me.

    I do NOT use ANY 3rd party software (I reinstalled the client several times and tried to backup after a fresh install!!!), I reinstalled client AND

    server several times and nothing worked for me.

    Does anyone know what to do? Which logs do you need to help me solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    Richard

  • The problem was finally solved.

    I found out that Windows Setup changed my HDD setup without me noticing it.

    HDD was set to GPT instead of MBR and therefore every backup failed...
