  • TSharpe3000,

Please examine your computer for a Certificate of Authenticity (COA).  Since this is a Toshiba laptop, it is very likely that your computer came from Toshiba with a properly licensed version of Windows, and that would be described on the COA.  In all liklihood the computer is still licensed to run this version and edition of Windows.

    Tell us,

What version and editon of Windows is on the COA?  Windows 2000 Pro, XP Home, XP Pro, Media Center, etc.

Does the COA have "Toshiba" on it in black lettering?

Or does it say "OEM Product" or "OEM Software"?

Not sure what to look for?  See this:  http://www.microsoft.com/resources/howtotell/en/coa.mspx  We would exect yours to be in the Preinstalled category.

  • I'm afraid so. Both copies of Windows and Office are not genuine on that computer. If you have the original media that was sold (COA, CD, EULA packet), then I would recommend filing a counterfeit report so we may further look into the items. This may also qualify you for a free WGA Kit!

Otherwise, I'm afraid you'll have to purchase a genuine copy of Windows from us directly (WGA Kit).
