If you have a US version of Money the Sunset version http://www.microsoft.com/money/sunset.mspx should open your file.
There have been reports that Sunset has successfully converted some non-US Money 2005 files.
Otherwise, you need the updated MnyCoreFiles as described in http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/630.aspx. Can you extract them from your old system or a backup of it?

I've tried to follow the intructions in that link you posted but I get an error message when I try to run the cd It won't run stating I have a corrupt or missing Inf file . My Version of Money is 14.0.120.730 It is a UK version . I downloaded the sunset version but they are unable to open a file made by a UK region of money , I'm now losing sleep over this !Saturday, May 28, 2011 9:30 PM

Either you did not follow the instructions correctly or, most likely, the CD did not burn correctly. Try again, burning at a slower speed and verifying the CD after burning.
The patch updated the MnyCoreFiles. Taking a copy of the updated MnyCoreFiles from a patched 14.x.x.1105 installation and pasting it over the files from a 14.x.x.730 installation is all that is needed. Creating the modified installation CD avoids the extra post-installation step.

Let's guess you are working with UK Money 2005. If you were using US Money, then a very different solution would be available.
Take a look at the http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/money/thread/21534a97-32e2-42c9-916f-7492fcfa5463 "Money 2005" thread a few posts down the list. Let us know if that helps.

Regarding the two laptops, one OK and the other not ...
Take a copy of the entire MNYCoreFiles folder from your Fujitsu system with patch 1105 installed to an external source (USB stick etc.)
Then copy that entire subfolder over the top of the MNYCoreFiles folder that is on the VAIO system which I assume has level 730 installed.
You should then be OK on the VAIO.

Don't forget to burn a CD with the working folders. Twice. And test them.Wednesday, June 8, 2011 9:29 PM

I have a friend who having spent a very frustrating week trying to sort this 1105 mess out has decided to look around to see if there is a copy of the updated disc in the illegal torrent sites. There is one which is named as MS money 14.0.120.1105 iso and he tells me that he has downloaded it and has no viruses in it (or so his checker stated ) (avg professional) I have informed him that it is very naughty and no doubt illegal to do so however his argument that Microsoft has discontinued it and left thousands of users to find thier own way out of this mess I have to say swayed me somewhat. I of course would not recommend anyone on this forum to do as my friend has and should just accept that sometimes you will have to lose years of work because that is the way of things. We should realise that sometimes profits are more important than mere customers.Wednesday, June 22, 2011 2:53 PM
