Powershell PSReadLineOption for Backgroundcolor RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

I am using PowerShell 5.1 as it is installed with Windows 10 1809 (54-Bit).

I have changed the foregound and backgroud colors using the colors tab in PowerShell properties.

However I have to adjust the colors for the different entries e.g. commands, parameters and so on, to make them readable with the new background color. This works well with the hints I found in PowerShell documentation.

What I can not realise is to change the background color, of an entry. error messages turn up with a black background and I want to change it. I understand the Documentation for Set-PSReadLineOption following: the parameter -color can be used to change the background color. Unfortunately I do not see how.

    Can anyone help me?

    Michael

  • The first thing to learn when using Windows or any other technical system is how to use help.

    help psreadline

Read all of the instructions carefully.

Since you do not know how to use help start by reading help:

    help help
