  • Return to the shop that serviced your computer and request that they correct your problem.  The shop installed a pirated copy of Windows.

    Windows Product ID Type: 2
    Windows License Type: OEM SLP

SLP copies are only valid when installed by the factory at the time of manufacture.  Your computer was manufactured on May 8, 2009.

    <Date>20090508000000.000000+000</Date>

The problem is that Windows 7 did not release to manufacturers until July 24, 2009, two and half months after your computer was built.  Obviously your computer could not legitmately have this copy of Windows installed.  The shop used a "loader" to hack the SLIC table in order to "activate" the software.  The SLIC table in the BIOS appears to be from Dell,

    SLIC DELL QA09

which should strike you as odd since you own an Asus.

If the shop will not fix this your only other options are to restore the Vista that came with your machine or purchase a full license copy of Windows 7.

  • Hi guys,

I have similar problem. However, I bought the software online - just a year ago and now I get this message that windows is not genuine. I still have the receipt e-mail. Attach the results of the Genuine detector tool. Please any suggestions would be useful.

  • You really should have posted in your own thread.

It seems Microsoft is having a problem with their servers. Looks like it involves downloads from the Microsoft store and Digital River.

    Users are reporting this:

Call: 866-530-6364  (windows 7 Genuine Advantage solution center)

Explain you're getting the No Longer Genuine message. Rep reported that it seems a lot of keys have been blocked due to them being refunded on MS's side, but not on the user's side. He issued me a new key (he cannot email it or update your account) and I retried the activation and it worked.

If you try this let us know the results.

  • My apologies. I will le you know about the outcome once I call them. I am in the UK and I have no access to call centres right now. Thanks for the help though - I had indeed downloaded the software from Digital River.

Once again, apologies for the wrong posting.

  • No problem.  Use the phone number on the website where you purchased and not Microsoft Support if you can.
