Windows home server Tuner Suggetion RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I wish there was a way I could put a bunch of tv tuners in a computer somewhere, and then allow media center clients access these tuners and watch live tv. This is great for laptops.

  • The way you can do this today is by installing the tuners in a home theater PC and using Media Center Extenders (such as an Xbox 360) to access the HTPC. However, if you think Windows Home Server should support tuners, you may want to submit a product suggestion on Connect .

And I have to admit that I disagree watching live TV would be "great" on a laptop. It might make it up to "bearable". :)
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • I use hauppauge and pinnacle tuners in my WHS. You might look also at MythTV for SW, I've tried a couple of the others and some I cannot recommend.
