Our organization refreshes CRM machines frequently and we constantly run into issues with CRM after having to change the machine name and attempting to reconfigure. After the machine name is changed CRM won't configure to a new user due to the local
SQL database being tied to the old machine name. We configure the machine for offline use so the database issue is one sitting on the local machine not the server. We are running CRM 4.0 Rollup 13 on a mix of Vista and Win7 machines.
The error that we get is a " Action Microsoft.CRM.Config.Common.InstallDatabaseAction failed. Logon Failure: unknown user name or bad password."
Has anyone else run into this problem and if so were you able to find a resolution?
If the only way to solve this is to uninstall and reinstall the local SQL database does anyone know the correct steps to do this cleanly?
