Missing file <Windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey,
I have an acer aspire one and whenever I try to start it up, i'm told that there is  missing or corrupt file: <windows roo>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
I don't have a windows xp reboot cd.

Is there any way I can get my computer to work without my harddrive being erased?

Also, whenever I try to go on safe mode, this message appears:
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
