not running genuine Windows after hard drive replacement RRS feed

  • Question

  • The "not genuine Windows" message started appearing about six weeks after the hard drive replacement, so I'm not sure that the two events are related. I barely knew what I was doing. I changed a partition size the next day so the OS could see the entire 500 GB (vs previous 320 GB). It's very possible that things were overlooked.

  • This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -

Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers

try downloading and installing them from here - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=22194

    (you want the iata_enu.exe download)

Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.

  • That looks OK now - try validation at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate - what happens?
