Mail merge from multiple CRM 2011 entities into Microsoft Word 2013 documents required RRS feed

    We have roughly 150 Word 2013 templates that we store in Windows Explorer on our company network. We are looking to implement a solution to enable us to mail merge into these documents. The data that is being merged is stored in MS CRM 2011 in various different entities (e.g., Accounts and Contacts).

    Ideally, we would like the template files to remain in Explorer so we can continue to use the advanced features of Word to make edits. It is essential that we retain the ability to edit the template files easily.

    If the CRM mail merge technology is such that the templates must reside inside CRM, one possibility might be to keep the master template files in Explorer and then write code to load all of them into CRM periodically, overwriting the previous versions. Under this scenario, the templates that we store in CRM would be effectively read-only, with the edits maintained in Explorer, and we would “release” them to CRM every few months with such code.
