An Unauthorized Change Has Been Made To Windows  -  Error:0C004D401  -  Description: the security processor has reported a mismatch error This error occurec only AFTER Firefox did a suto update. I was not sure if the update had anythign to do with the problem or not but I decided to deleate Firefox and restarted only to receve the error when i clicked the CLOSE button the cuputer restarted. Once it finished starting i logged in and once again receve the same message. I started in safe mode and did a system restore to before the update took palce and once the restore auto restarted the computer the error was still there and it turned of the computer once again. i started once more in safe mode so i could see if i could find any answers. i found a post about software that would not work with Vista, i do not have any of that software instaled. I chceked the forums again and found another post that was nearly the same as my problem http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinevista/thread/ecd20301-65f2-4674-a2bf-22f857a101ab and it said to run the MGADiag tool so i did here is the results:

  • Your Licensing Store is corrupted....

Please try the below steps to recreate the Store files.  This may resolve the issue.

    1) Open an Internet Browser window.
    2) Type: %windir%\system32 into the browser address bar.
    3) Find the file CMD.exe
    4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
    5) Type: net stop slsvc  (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
    6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
    7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
    8) Type: cd %windir%\system32
    9) Type: net start slsvc
    10) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)
    11) Restart your computer twice.
    12) You may be required to enter the Product Key and/or Activate.

Once complete, please post back with a new MGADiag report
