Emergency whs won't boot up RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone, I woke up this morning and booted up my whs. I looked at the monitor to see the bootup  stopped and this on the screen...

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:

    system32\DRIVERS\nvata.sys

You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM.

Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.

I'm wondering if using the setup rom will wipe the system or if there is an easier way?

  • ok well i am reinstalling whs :( . oh well the price you pay for technology lol

I just found out nvidia doesn't have server 2003 32bit drivers so yippee now i have to look for a new hardware build since this probably is why it went south on me.

  • Selecting 'r' is for repair and on other OS does not wipe anything, it just repairs the damaged files.
