[CRM 4] State changes for custom entities RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I've been asking many questions lately because I had to mess with functionalities I never had before.

I have a new problem now.

When a custom entity is created as far as I'm aware the only state options are "Active" and "Inactive". We can add new status code options but that doesn't come with any functionality.

Is there an easy way to change the statecodes for custom entities?

And to assign them default functionality (such as open/close record, disable all fields if closed, etc)?

Or is this a task that I better Forget the undertaking?

  • I was always told that altering the state codes was not a good idea. I think that you might be able to add in some extra codes but getting anything to work with them is very difficult.

  • You cannot add or change the statecodes for custom entities, and the only built-in functionality is that inactive records are read-only.

We commonly create additional fields to manage state within custom entities, rather than using the built-in fields
