Which Certification to choose for windows phone customer support RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am trainer for Microsoft courses like MCSE, Exchange and TMG. I have recently joined a company which is service partner for Nokia Windows Phones. They ask me to give them a plan that which certification they should select for their customer support people to equip them. Actually they intend to launch Nokia windows phone support allover the country.

The goal for the certification is to equip the customer support to provide Nokia customers for their phone related problems.

Looking forward for the reply soon.

  • Hi, Anwaar.

There isn't a straight forward certification for supporting just Windows 8 phones. Instead, there is an exam and an MCSA title for support Windows 8 desktop and Windows 8 phones.

Here is the MCSA: Windows 8 title that requires a person to pass two (2) exams, 70-687 and 70-688. Alternately, they could just pass one exam (70-688) to earn their Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) title for supporting Windows 8 desktop and Windows 8 phone:

    The Two (2) Exams:

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-us/exam-70-688.aspx

If you take a look at the exam details, especially exam 70-688, you will see that it includes coverage of supporting Windows 8 phones as well as other phones.

    Good luck!

  • Hello, Davin

Thanks for your reply. I have already given this plan and that's good! I was correct. Actually I had to give an urgent plan. What I am thinking is to ask the company to provide me a Windows Phone to test and install and troubleshoot Windows Phone OS and then deliver the lectures along with MCSA windows 8. In this way I can train the support staff for both the troubleshooting.

    Thanks one again.
