CRM 2011 Email Activity RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all, Good day.

Is it possible that the CRM sends an e-mail without creating an e-mail activity record?

We have a scenario wherein the customer receives an erroneous autoreply e-mail when the email server is down. We have workflow that sends an auto-reply email but the template is different from the email customer is receiving.

We have checked the email router logs, but no logs recorded for the erroneous autoreply e-mail. No email records created in CRM. Workflow is not being triggered.

But our client keep on insisting that the erroneous autoreply e-mail is coming from CRM. Where else can we check that might cause the problem. Thank in advance. I really appreciate your help.

Our client is using CRM email router for CRM 2011 on premise.

You can handle sending your emails by using a custom workflow or plugin and avoid creating email activities.

Do note however, you have to handle the parameters for sending the email by yourself including mail server configurations.

Is it possible that your client is receiving the auto-reply for the mail server, as in the mail server is unable to deliver the message, considering there's no record of it inside the CRM?
