Cpu is Messed up. Activation problems Says is not Genuine, etc. Please Help FAST! RRS feed

  • when i log in it brings up this black screen with something in white letters on the bottom right corner. it says;
    Windows Vista (TM)
    Build 6000
    This copy of Windows is not genuine

    then shortly after it brings up a little note screen or w/e that gives me 3 options;

    1. Access your Computer with Limited Functionality (can buy product keys online)
    2. Type a different Product key
    3. Contact Microsoft to help resolve this problem

    Option 1 lets me use the Internet and thats it while back is still black and no other access to the computer.
    Option 2 Does not work when i enter my Product key cuz My product key is for Vista Home Premium and it has Home basic installed. The reason this is becuz my computer was messing up and I didnt have a Disc to fix it and Reboot/reinstall it so my friend used his Disc from his Home Basic Vista cpu. It was fine for a while but then it was messing up. I tried to do system restore to see if it would fix it and it put me where i am now.
    Option 3 just brings up a Help box that doesnt help at all.

    I bought my computer in February of 2008 from WalMart. I dont know what to do to fix this or anything. i've tried to find a way to order a disc from the company but cant find anything about it anywhere. Please help me out. I'm in dire need of assistance.

    Thank you for visiting the Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) program forum. Please select option 1.  In order to receive the best support, we request all users to initially run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool (MGADT).  This will try and identify the individual issue you may be experiencing.  Please provide a brief synopsis describing your customer scenario, including any dialogue or error messages, or codes. Error codes can be found in the lower left hand corner of most Genuine Advantage web-pages when an error is encountered.

    By clicking the link below, you will download the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool (MGADT).  Then click the Run button. Then click the Run button again. Then click the Continue button to perform the diagnostic. The Windows tab should show, click the Copy button to paste your report to the clipboard.  Then paste the report into a New Post on this Forum by adding a post in it and pressing Ctrl V (to paste the text). Clicking the OK button will clear the Diagnostic window. Here is the download link:

    Please tell us about the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) for your copy of Windows Vista.

    1. What edition/version of Windows Vista is titled?

    ·         Home Premium 

    ·         Business

    ·         Ultimate

    2. Does it read "OEM Software" or "OEM Product" in black lettering?

    3. Or, does it have the computer manufacturer's name in black lettering?

    4. Please provide the customer scenario you are experiencing.

    5. DO NOT post the Product Key.
