Bulk Local Time conversion through web services RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm creating a Silverlight calendar that displays appointments from Dynamics CRM 2011. Everything's working well apart from the fact that all dates come back from the service as UTC dates.

After looking into this, it seems even though I am running under the users context, I don't have an option to retrieve these dates using the local users settings.

The only option appears to be the LocalTimeFromUtcTimeRequest and make individual calls to the organisation service for each date. As this is going to amount to around 500 requests when the user's in "Month" view, it's not going to be a viable option.

Is there anyway of either retrieving dates back as localtime? Or sending multiple dates through an equivalent of LocalTimeFromUtcTimeRequest? Or anything any other way I haven't thought of! :-)

    Many Thanks

  • I think the dates should come back with timezone information, so you should be able to use the ToLocalTime() method of the DateTime structure
