Tune up wouldn't finish

Question
-
Tune up wouldn't finish Step 3 (Scanning for virus and potentially unwanted software). The status bar was at 90% for almost 20 hours; it was scanning directory c:\documents and settings\owner\local settings\application data. The harddrive sounded pretty busy the whole time. Finally I clicked "Cancel Tune-up".
Still it wouldn't stop. Patient, Ken, patient. I am thinking I have to reboot this thing.
Is it normal for Tune up to take 20 hours to run? If not, what should I do?

It sounds like the virus scan has hung on the part where it is trying to take action on malware identified during the scan. Chuck's advice to reach out to support is the correct way to go.
