  • Question

  • Hi, being a novice in the vast world of internet science I have consequently been contaminated by several adware/malware intruders!  During the clean up process (trying to eliminate ?ATI?) I have to reinstall Windows XP for stability!  I purchased the lap top with Win XP already installed therefore have no CDRom to complete this.  I do have a very thin Windows manual with various addresses and serial numbers, however I remain unsure how to do this!  Plus will rebooting the system mean I loose all the other software I've bought and installed?  I do know that I have taken "snap shots" of the system prior to viral searches etc.  Would it be possible to reinstall that way and eliminate the contaminants another way?  Help please, I realy feel like I've opened a can of worms!!

  • Contact the manufacturer of your computer and request a Windows XP recovery CD.  Then follow the manufacturer's instructions to perform a complete system recovery.
