  • Steve,

I recently installed Office on my new mac and have been trying to utilize Entourage for my email functions, but have run in to some problems...  The first nite, I was able to pull messages from the Hotmail server, but for the last 24 hours, I keep receiving the following message (Error: -18497):

    Error
"HTTP error.  The server is temporariliy unable to fulfill the request."

    Explanation
    "Could not retrieve mail.
    Account name: 'Hotmail' "

There are some 4000+ emails still to be retrieved, and I need to have local access to them (without an internet connection)...  Each time I hit 'send/receive' I receive a message about the number of emails and then, almost immediately, I receive the error message above...  When I first setup the account, I was able to download approximately 5500 emails over the course of a few days, having run in to the same problem a few times during this 'initial' server download, but since yesterday, it seems to not be working at all and I am not receiving any messages through Entourage.

On a tangent, I am still operating MS Outlook from my PC (second machine) and it seems to have no problems pulling new messages from the Hotmail server, so I know it's working in some capacity.  I have tried using a more basic mail application on my new mac, but the pop3.live.com server will not authenticate my password, which I know is correct, so I now think there's something   I can't tell if the problem lies with a volume-related issue (too many emails)

I would appreciate assistance in any way, as I'm simply trying to get myself set up accordingly.  Thank you.

    Best,
    Adam
