  • The current HPC product, HPC Pack 2008 R2, supports Server 2008 R2 and Server 2008-based machines. The previous version, HPC Pack 2008, supported Server 2008-based machines. The version that was before that, Compute Cluster Pack, was a 2003-based solution.

It is important to note that the Server 2003 operating systems left 'mainstream support' 2 years ago. http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?LN=en-us&c2=1163&x=15&y=16
