  • Please ignore the post from that WordPress site as the author has not given you appropriate information for how to use the portal framework at all.  The best way to really get started is to use the Adxstudio version that just works out of the box and can be set up online at demo.adxstudio.com.  That said, if you want to stick with the free partner portal solution, you should follow the instructions that are included with the marketplace download of that solution.  You will import solution files into your CRM, then run a utility called websitecopy that will push the data into your CRM for a starting portal.  A fully functional portal is also included and you simply take that and change the web.config file to point to your CRM and then host the portal on a web server.  One of the things you may find as a valuable resource is the Adxstudio community portal (http://community.adxstudio.com/).  It really only deals with the commercial version of the portals, but since it is built upon the free portal as a base (Adxstudio built the free portal framework for Microsoft), many of the principals that are documented on the site are applicable to the free portals.  Good luck!
