Repair MS Money 2000 Standard (South African edition) data file (running Windows XP) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

Whenever I click on Reports>Spending Habits>Category Spending, I receive an error "Internal application error".

If I start a new file I do not get this error.

I have run the repair utility (Run msmoney -s "data file path & file") but that hasn't fixed it.

    Any suggestions?

  • IF this is a NEW condition and IF you have backups from before it occured, you might want to go that route. You might also want to try a binary search in data to see if there is some specific transaction or something that is gagging it up. See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=104 for more information.

You might also want to cut your losses and get on with the QIF export transition to Quicken.

  • You can use salv.exe in your install folder to try to make a repaired version. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902466/en-us can help you do the same with a newer version of salv.exe
