Team Foundation Server Suite & Subversion on Windows Server 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • All,

I am in the process of transitioning our small development group from linux systems to Windows.  Effective December 2008 we converted our development environment from java on linux to Visual Studio (Pro with MSDN subscriptions) in a .Net 3.5 framework.

While I would like to implement Team Foundation Server Suite in our environment, the 10k price tag is a bit steep for our small development organization (5 developers).  Do you know if Microsoft provides a more affordable price for a small group (like Windows Small Business Server)?

Also, we are currently running a linux server with Subversion to provide versioning control.  I would like to transition the source repository from the linux box to Windows 2008 server.  It is my understanding that Subversion can run on a Windows 2008 server.  Are you aware of any "clear" directions on how to accomplish this?

    -thank you
