Renewed and only one PC has the date extended by a year - and not the one I loaded it on RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a pc running XP,  my husband has a laptop running Vista.  We used OneCare last year – and I bought two because I did not know I only needed one for 3 PCs.  Subscription runs out today.  Last night I went to renew on the PC, entered my PIN (25 character product key) and things looked good.  But it did not change the expiration date on my Onecare landing page, I even rebooted.  I went tot the laptop, and voila, that date changed and a year was added.  I checked and both the laptop and PC have a subscription ID of ggkaufmann@hotmail.com.donotspammeever

and on the PC, when I look at product key information – it shows both last years key and this years.  I try to redo it (enter the PIN) on the PC and it says the product key is already used.  HOW DO I GET THE DATE TO UPDATE ON MY PC?

  • (The following is a "boilerplate" response - I know you already did the 2nd and 3rd item in the bulleted list)

Renewal takes effect on the date that your current subscription expires and that it can take up to 24 hours for the subscription status to be updated in OneCare if you are renewing within 30 days of expiration and 5 days if renewal was performed between 90 and 30 days before expiration.

     You can try the following:

    • Check your PC date and time.
    • Check your subscription status by logging in with your subscription LiveID at http://billing.microsoft.com
    • Confirm that this is the same LiveID shown to be the Subscription ID in OneCare - Help/About…
    • Open OneCare and click "Check for Updates" to have OneCare check for updated credentials

If your subscription is correctly shown at the Billing site, but incorrect in OneCare and your PC date and time are correct, please contact support.
