trying to a link a many to one relationship in a tabular model RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to link a many to one relationship in a tabular model and keep getting the error of 'The relationship cannot be created because each column contains duplicate values. Select at least one column that contains only unique values.'  The fields have unique values.  We also tried the related function to and that didn't work.  Here is a screen shot of my error.

  • Hi jackcrawfish,

Actually you know that this forum is to discuss:

Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System, and Visual Studio Editor.

Sorry for that I didn't find the information which is related to the VS IDE, it seems that it is not the VS IDE issue.

I also did some research about the error message and the windows in your screen shot.

Just to make this issue clearly, whether it is related to the SQL Server PowerPivot like this case?

    Reference:

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg413432%28v=sql.110%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

If it is related to the SQL Server, you'd better post this issue to the SQL Server forum.

If not, please let me know more information about this issue, maybe I could provide a more appropriate forum for you.

    Best Regards,

    Jack
