UPGRADE CRM 4 FROM 3.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Hello,

Upgrade failed when I tried to install CRM 4.0 on CRM 3.0 server .

So I want to try again on an other server to upgrade the CRM 3.0 database.

I made only a copy of the database on a second server.

How can I just run from the CRM 4.0 setup, the upgrade of the CRM 3.0 database on the second server where CRM 3.0 is not install !

    Thank you.

  • To upgrade a CRM 3.0 database to CRM 4.0, CRM 3.0 has to be installed. The easiest option is to install CRM 3.0 on the second server, and select the Connect to Existing Databases option during the installation

  • Thank for your reply.

The problem is that I have a SBS CRM 3.0 licence, so I can install CRM 3.0 only on a SBS.

If I run the install of CRM 4.0 on the CRM 3.0 another time, and if the upgrade fail again, how can I restart the upgrade after I resolve the problem.

    Dear,

I just did upgradation and then migrate data through scribe. the best practice is use the upgradation and it will do data migration, but i have install crm 3 point to existing db and then did upgradation

    For SBS it will work

    Regards,

    Imran
