Invalid User Authorization after migration RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I had to migrate our CRM to another server.
I backed up the organisation_MSCRM and MSCRM_CONFIG database.
Went to the other server, restored the organisation_MSCRM db, and imported it with the deployment manager which is included in the CRM.
Everything works fine but I wanted to migrate every single setting I made to the CRM (columns and other UI stuff)
So I restored the MSCRM_CONFIG db, now I get the following message.

    Invalid User Authorization
The user authentication passed to the platform is not valid.

I checked the registry, and any referral to the old database in the database tables, everything should be ok.

  • My understanding is MSCRM_CONFIG holds server-related settings e.g. where is SQL Server?, not customisations. What was the old metabase is now held in the main database. Therefore, the changes you made should have come across in the original restoration. If they didn't the only thing I can think of is they weren't published and somehow got dropped.

The upshot is you shouldn't migrate the CONFIG DB.
