  • Can anyone tell me what the menu option "File > Import > Import INV file..." does and what format of file the function expects?  Thanks.

    It turns out that a .INV file is an invoice file.

    Thanks for the reply.

     

    I'm a little confused though.  Accordingly to http://moneycentral.msn.com/help/faq.asp and http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/33134661/old-files.aspx the file appears to be a way of transferring information from “the old Portfolio Manager” to “the new Portfolio Manager”.  I’ve no idea what this means, however if it allows for the import of stock portfolios it may also allow for the import of stock prices.

     

    Bearing in mind the end of stock updates in January, is it not possible that this may provide a mechanism of importing stock prices into Money without the complexity of PocketSence scripts, etc.?

     

    If this were the case we’d just need to understand the format, at which point a third party function could be written to generate the file on request.

     

    Could you please investigate further?  This may be a major help to those of us who have run Money for years and can’t find a suitable replacement!
