failed 70-433 exam RRS feed

  • Question

  • I took the 70-433 SQL developer exam yesterday and failed. I want to retake the exam but when I called prometric they informed that I need to pay the full exam fee. I am confused here. On the microsoft it says we can take a free retake upto 5 times in a year. Is 70-433 exam not one of the MCP exam, can someone explain if I am not understanding it right?

  • I don't think that you are understanding the policy correctly. It does say that you can't take a given exam more than 5 times in one year, but those 5 times are not included in the price of the first one. Each of the retakes needs to be paid separately.

From time to time there is an offer for a free second shot, which means that you pay for one exam and if you fail then you can retake it once without paying again. But currently, no such promotion is active.

  • Where did you read this? Can you please provide the URL.

You need to pay the full exam fee each time you want to sit an exam. Microsoft periodically release Second Shot vouchers letting you sit the exam for free if you fail it the first time however there are none available at this stage.

And this one is from microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/exam-policies.aspx#retake

Am I not understanding this right?

I see nothing in these links that state if you fail an exam, you can take it again free of charge.
