My copy of windows(which is in fact genuine) has been telling me tat it is not genuine. any ideas on how to fix it?

no but i have gotten a few errors. i think it may be a virus know of any good free anti virus software? i have avast but it doesn't seen to think anything is amiss.

Try downloading Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Do not enable the Real time blocking protection module when you install it.
Then click the Update tab -> Check for updates. Then run a Quick Scan to begin with & see if it finds anything.

1. Download Microsoft MGADiag.exe & save it to your desktop.
2. Run it & click the continue button.
3. Then click the copy button. (Ignore any error messages you may get)
4. In a new reply in this thread only. Paste the full report given.

Try downloading Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Do not enable the Real time blocking protection module when you install it.
