  • Dear CRM Specialists,

I have to upgrade MS CRM 2013 SP1 to MS CRM 2015. We have used various plugins, JavaScript, Workflows, custom workflows and HTML 5 code in MS CRM 2013 Solution. Can anyone let me know if I will migrate from MS CRM 2013 SP1 to MS CRM 2015, Will all Plugins , JavaScript , Workflows, custom Workflows and HTML 5 work properly or We have to changed it. if change will be there, How Much change will be?

Please let me know about it.

    Thanks & Regards,

  • This is a hard question to answer without knowing what custom components you have and for what CRM system they were originally made, most of the time a migration from 2013 to 2015 should run smooth.

I would advice you to either set up a test environment to test the upgrade or upgrade off hours to test it with a good restore strategy(Both databases and the server itself if possible).

  • Hello Vivek,

For the client-side code, Microsoft suggests the below tool to perform tests on compatibility between MSCRM versions. For the plugins and custom workflows, I would strongly advise you to check the target .NET framework version and the code itself.

Custom Code Validation Tool for Dynamics CRM 2015

Normally, plugin code between 2013 and 2015 shouldn't require many (if any) changes, but as suggested above, why not upgrade a Sandbox environment first and test functionalities there before upgrading the production environment?

    Hope that was helpful,
