Suddenly not Genuine Office 2003 RRS feed

  • Here are the results of my check to see if I have Genuine Office 2003 on my computer.  When I open Office 2003 I get a notice that my version is not Genuine.  Please help me fix this problem, as it just began happening just last month..Iv'e had this product for over a year now without any previous problems.

    The report says you have a Blocked VLK, which means that (a) your Dell Dimension 2350 computer has a Volume Licensing edition of Office Professional Edition 2003 installed, and that (b) a Blocked Volume Licensing Key (VLK) was used to install it.  A "blocked" VLK is one that was issued by Microsoft to a business, educational institution, or governmental agency for their exclusive use in accordance with a Volume Licensing Agreement.  (Note that such use does NOT allow the resale of such VLKs.)  However, because the VLK may have been reported lost, stolen, or compromised to the internet by the original keyholder, or because the Volume Licensing Agreement has expired, Microsoft has blocked the VLK from further use.

    If your use of this Volume Licensing edition of Office Professional Edition 2003 is in association with an organization that has a Volume Licensing Agreement, then please contact the IT support staff of the organization for further assistance.  This may be your situation, as the section of the report that tells us about Windows is showing that your Windows XP Pro installation on your Dell is also a Volume Licensing installation, which like Office is normally only seen on computers that are part of a larger business, educational, or governmental organization.

    When the person repaired the computer, he used a volume licensing copy of Windows and Office.  The Office was picked up by OGA but WGA has not yet picked up on the Windows installation.

    You can order backup discs from Dell so you can put the original genuine OEM Dell license for XP back onto the computer.  Here is the link:  http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dellcare/en/backupcd_form?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&redirect=1

  • Thanks Dan for your time and help you have given me. I will erase this program from my computer and purchase Genuine Microsoft. In 2008 I had my Dell computer repaired and the gentleman installed Office 2003. Nothing else I can do, as the man passed away and his company has closed. Thanks again for your help. galenf
