  • Hello abuwasaifa,

    Right now, your Toshiba computer has a Volume Licensing edition of XP Pro installed (Line 10), and that installation was done with an Invalid Volume Licensing Key (VLK) (Line 2).  VLKs are invalidated by Microsoft when they are found to be generated by a non-Microsoft key generating (keygen) program.

    Furthermore, as a rule, VL editions of XP should not be sold to individual consumers.  Businesses, schools and gov'ts normally use VL editions for flexibility in installing many computers.  Also, Volume Licenses for XP are Upgrade only licenses and cannot be used as the original license for the computer.

    If you search the forum for the part of the Product Key that is shown by the utility, X7W2W-7R3XT-DVRPQ, you will see that this invalid Product Key has been reported on the computers of at least six other posters.

    This is why you were seeing the "software counterfeiting" messages on your computer, because the current installation of XP is an unauthorized installation.

    Look on the computer or in the materials that came with your Toshiba computer or your retail purchase of Windows to see if you have a Certificate of Authenticity (CoA).  It's very likely that your Toshiba has such a CoA, and if so, it will describe the version and edition of Windows that came preinstalled on the laptop.  Your laptop should still be licensed to run that version and edition of Windows.  In order to put that  version and edition of Windows back onto the computer, please use the Recovery or Reinstallation CDs or procedure supplied by Toshiba with your laptop.  You may have to consult with Toshiba customer service or tech support to find out what the procedure is, or to ask if replacement CDs are available for your computer.

    Regarding your Office installation, here is the Office portion of the mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 114 Blocked VLK 2
    Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 - 114 Blocked VLK 2
    OGA Version: N/A, 0x80070002
    Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002
    Office Diagnostics: 025D1FF3-230-1

    The report is telling us that you have a nongenuine installation of a Volume Licensing-only edition of Office 2003 Pro.  Your installation was done with a now-blocked Volume Licensing Key (VLK).

    Volume Licensing editions of Office such as your installation of Office 2003 Professional are not to be sold to individual consumers, and are only to be sold to larger businesses, educational institutions, and governmental agencies who need flexibility in installing and deploying many copies of Office.

    These Volume Licenses should not be sold to consumers because they are not permanent licenses; they are subject to a current Volume Licensing Agreement that has a finite term, sort of like a lease.  Consumers thinking they purchased permanently licensd software would understandably be upset when their software stopped working at the end of a lease.

    If you purchased Office 2003 Professional thinking you were buying genuine retail Office Professional for consumers with a permanent license, please return the software to the place of purchase for replacement or a full refund.

    You can also review the Office Genuine Advantage FAQ to see if you qualify for the discounted or complimentary replacement program called the Office Genuine Offer:  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/FAQ.aspx?displaylang=en&sGuid=4ba10af9-ffaa-4cb9-9af4-6aff8a220262#ID0EKNAC
