Internet Explorer has stopped working while scrolling: CRM 2011 RU18 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We recently upgraded from CRM 2011 RU8 to RU18. We have three organizations. Lets say Org1, Org2 and Org3.

We are facing some issues in the combination of IE11 and RU18.

After upgrading to RU18, we were able to browse Org1 and Org2 in both IE8 and IE11. But when we browse the Org3 in IE 11, it was opening blank screen after the ADFS authentication, but works fine in IE8. It is temporarily resolved by adding the site to Compatibility View Settings. My question is, why it is happening only with this Org3 organization?

We are facing one more problem in Org3. That is, Internet Explorer is crashing on scrolling of the page using scroll bar in IE11. But it is working fine in IE8 or if we use mouse scroll or down arrow in IE11. Below is the error screenshot of IE crashing.

Can any one help me to solve this issue? IE11 Crashing

  • Hi Charan,

Which version of Windows OS are you using? Windows 8 doesn't support IE 11.

  • A quick search about "NameCtrl class" tells it is an activex control which is used to display user's presence. But, as per your screenshot i don't see presence is enabled in your org. I am not sure what else can be wrong.

Following post may be of help to you:

  • Hi Vikranth,

May I know how to enable the presence if this can fix my issue?

And we are using Office 2010. The given post is for Office 2013. Please correct me if I am wrong.
