Why does Remote Desktop asks for permission?

Question
-
It defeats the purpose. For example If I am away, and I have my PC in home. I have added it in my mesh and I want to access it's desktop. When I try to connect it, it requires permission from the home PC. Ofcourse there is no one sitting down there to press Allow. Why?Tuesday, May 6, 2008 12:44 AM

There is a countdown until a connection is automatically created.
This is obviously just in case someone is using the computer you are trying to connect to. They don’t want to be kicked off without warning. This way anyone currently using the computer is able to disable the remote connection before it is initiated. Maybe there should be an option that allows you to connect immediately if you are the only user of the computer.
Perhaps you could make a suggestion in the relevant thread.- Edited by Complete_Prat Tuesday, May 6, 2008 2:58 AM Text corrected

I have the exact same problem. I have 3 computers on my Mesh. Two are 64 bit Vista and they talk to each other just fine, the 3rd computer is 32 bit Vista and I have to physically go to it to allow remote mesh priveleges. It does defeat the purpose. Is there a work around for the 32 bit machine?Tuesday, October 27, 2009 8:31 PM

I answered your other post. If you are not connected *ever* unless you grant permission at the remote machine something is blocking it or something else is wrong.

You are correct, Stephen. There was no one using the computer but a background application made it appear so. I should have just waited. It was my first day with Mesh.
I am not a newbie... I'm a Beta tester for Microsoft and have been a certified webmaster for 14 years.
My bad and thanks for the reply.Wednesday, October 28, 2009 1:30 AM
