OCS to outside voicemail - which disconnects RRS feed

  • Has anyone run into an event where using OCS you call someone, get their voicemail, proceed to leave a message but the other system does not hear you and disconnects?  Were you able to fix this?

  • Are you sure that no messsage is left? I have seen an issue where you are disconnected after 30 seconds which there is no fix for with Cisco Unity. I would look at whether your OCS mediation server has network connectivity to the Voice mail system assuming its an IP voice mail system. The disconnect is more than likely caused by missing RTCP packets arriving at the mediation server, but if there is no message left it sounds like network connectivity issues. Logging at the mediation server will tell you more.

  • Actually - I was using OCS to call another company - got to their VM and as I was recording the message the voicemail interrupted me by saying it could not hear me... if I get to a real person there, they can hear me fine - just not their voicemail...

  • You could check your gateway for any settings that could affect this but in the end it may not be your issue if you are calling to the other company via the PSTN. If it only seems to be this one company you have an issue it may be worth talking with someone that works there that has a clue about their network and see if you can get them to run some tests on their end.
