Can't activate OneCare, Error Code: 80070008 RRS feed

  • I am unable to activate my OneCare beta.  When I click the Subscribe button, the normal activation process starts.  I attempt to sign-in with my Windows Live ID and password, but I always get the following error message:

    "Signing in was unsuccessful because of an error.  Please make sure that you are connected to the Internet and try again later.  If the problem persists, contact support.


    Error Code: 80070008"

    I can connect to Hotmail, connect.microsoft.com, billing.microsoft.com, etc. with my Live ID, but for whatever reason I can't seem to sign in from within OneCare in order to activate it.

  • That's a new one for me, Eric. Try clearing cookies and temporary Internet files, verifying the IE is the default browser, and that IE is not set to automatically detect settings for the connection/proxy. Failing all of that, contact support -
