  • Question

  • Hi all,

Can somebody pls explain to me how to set up indexing in order to have

access to indexing results from my whole network (1 desktop+1 home server+2 notebooks).

Indexing of the home server (where all files are backed up) stops evry time again.

  • Hi,

If you add your clients using the connector then indexing will automatically be setup across the network.

    Cheers,

  • Can you please explain a little better what you're trying to accomplish?

If you're talking about searching files, then each computer maintains it's own search index, containing information about the files on that computer. When you access a share on your server from another computer, you can use the search box to search that share for a file. Note that files that have been backed up to your server are stored in the server's backup database, and are unavailable for searching.

As for your other computers, if you're running Windows 7 you can add them all to a homegroup. For more information about how to do this, and the advantages, you should read Windows 7 Homegroup , available from the Microsoft Download Center.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
