Different organizations, different picture in the header RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I'd like to have for each organization another picture or color in the header. All organizations are on the same server.
Is this possible? If I change the picture, it appears in every organization...

    Thanks for your help.

  • As this is mentioned by Darren before, this is not possible in a supported way. An idea is to create a custom aspx page which will show the logo of the current organization. Then in an IFrame show dynamics CRM. This is ofcourse a workaround, but by doing so you will not modify the loader.aspx page. Modifying that file would help you as well, but that can cause issues with upgrades and hotfix (roll-up) installations. If you would like to go that route, then you can do the following:
    - create a webservice which accepts an organization id and returns the url of the organization image.
    - add code to the loader.aspx file which will execute the webservice
    - replace the dynamics crm logo with the url retrieved from the webservice.

    Hope this helps,

  • By Organizations, do you mean customers in MS CRM ?
If yes then yes you can show a different image for each account in your system on the account form.

If by organization you mean an organization in MS CRM then again yes it is possible. You need to put the organization image on the server and based on which organization the logged in user  belongs to you can load the image of the organization and display it in MS CRM.

  • Thanks for your reply. It's meant by Organization... Can you tell me exactly where to change? For one organization I know it, but not if I have more organizations with different pictures.

  • Hi,

I don't believed you can change the header without any kind of unsupported customization. All CRM organization shares the same set of images and aspx pages.

Please share with us on how you can achieve it.

    Thanks!

  • Yes I know that every organization uses the same files. So that's my question how to deal that... :-)
