Launchpad and Dashboard will not start on one PC RRS feed

  • Question

  • Problem just started to occur on one PC (Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit).  When I start Launchpad it starts but immediately exits, icon shows in taskbar then disappears.  Dashboard will not start on this PC as well.  Launchpad and dashboard both work on 5 other PC's.  The PC that it doesn't work on shows in Dashboard (on other PC) and gets backed up just fine.  Tried uninstalling Connect software and reinstalling, no good.  Tried a repair on .NET Framework 4, no good.  I see the server in my Network and can login to see shared folders, just fine.

Any other suggestions or information that I can gather?
    Thank you,
    Larry

  • Further to my post above here is the entry in Launchpad.log created when I try to run Launchpad.  Would appreciate any guidance as to what the problem is:

  • I looked at the four threads but they don't seem to fit my situation.  I am looking at the problem as isolated to the one PC that doesn't work since the other PC's on the network no not have any issues with Launchpad or Dashboard.  Is it possible that the problem is on the server?

Here is the log extract when I try to start Dashboard, hope that this helps:

  • Well I just gave up and restored the PC from a known good backup.  Launchpad and Dasdhboard are now working again.  I guess that I am very disappointed that although we have logs and other information we still can't seem to figure out problems such as this.  I am also disappointed in the lack of Microsoft support, totally non-existent.

  • I don't know how this was marked answered.  I am still having the same issue on one PC, Windows 7 Professional SP1 64Bit.  Launchpad starts, shows LOADING then closes.  Dashboard doesn't start at all.  Both work on other PCs on the home server network.  Still a mystery.
