Could not find "Change Product Key" option on Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Everytime I start up my computer, a pop up saying that I'm currently running on Windows that is not genuine will come up . So, I did bought a new product key (since the prompts lead me there) after much contemplation. However, I couldn't find the "Change Product Key" option after going to Start buttn -> Computer -> Properties as the link suggested.

I'm using Dell Inspiron 13, bought in early 2010.

I also did a Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool because I saw a suggestion in another thread that I should do it. Below is the results.

  • The WAT update has been damaged...

    Close all open windows.

Open an Elevated Command Prompt window, and type the following command

    wusa /uninstall /kb:971033

    and hit the Enter key

Accept the warnings/confirmations, and wait for it to complete

copy and paste the output (if any) from the command prompt window to a reply here,

    Reboot

    reinstall the update from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971033

    Reboot

run another MGADiag report, and post it.
