Getting Onecare running after lightening trashed my hard disk RRS feed

    After a lightening storm, nothing on my hard disk was retrievable. I had a new one put in and Windows XP reinstalled.  My data was safe on my external disk (IOMEGA).  I have tried to download a new copy of ONECARE, the pay-for and the 90 day trial, without success. " ... application information is incorrect" is the jist of the error message.  Whatever happened to a good old SOC4? Can anyone tell me how to proceed?  Thanks

    I have no idea what "...application information is incorrect" means. What is the exact error? Since you reinstalled XP, have you also gone to Windows Update to bring it up to date with all security patches? If you restored an original XP or SP1 version, OneCare cannot install as SP2 is the minimum required.
