  • That's been a known issue for a couple of years at least. Appears to be low on the priority of fixes.

Yes, and it's quite ridiculous (and a real pain if you use My Threads a lot, which I do).

This is obviously (I would have thought) a simple programming error, which could be fixed easily without risk of breaking the rest of the system.

Here's my original report from almost two years ago now:

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/e6b54285-f1bc-4e93-8a3b-faf33d6c5eb8/bug-in-my-threads-when-clicking-on-user-names-in-thread-summary?forum=reportabug

Never did get any MSFT response, which I don't find too surprising.

    Overdue for a bump.

  • Would you like to keep this thread open?

If so, I can move this over to the suggestions forum. Supposedly threads there are reviewed, but I haven't really seen any meaningful changes made to the forum in any way for a year or so.

I would like to keep it open, but suggestions is not really appropriate - it's clearly an error in the procedure.

Okay, we can leave it here if you'd prefer. I suggest unproposing the proposed answer in that case.

EDIT: You might also want to shoot an email to fissues (at) microsoft [dot] com with a link to this thread as well to alert the forums team to the issue and try to get it on their radar. The admins lately monitor that mailbox more often than this forum in my experience.

  • I right clicked on the creators names for the first three threads in MyThreads and copied the shortcuts. They are below. Which is why I suppose it's not working. Since if you right click on and copy a shortcut from within the actual thread I believe the correct URL for that persons profile is accurate.

    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/profile/__mr__champagne/?type=forum&referrer=http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/user/threads?user=Mr. Monkeyboy

    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/profile/ejanuska/?type=forum&referrer=http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/user/threads?user=Mr. Monkeyboy

As the first threads originator copied shortcut url from within the thread below is accurate.
