No personal view for new field on form?

Question

Hi,
I just created a new lookup field on a form. Now I want to use a personal view (self created) for that field, but I only can select "system views" and no "my views". Is it possible to use my view or not?

You can select both system as well as custom views for lookups. Simply go to lookup field and then go to additional properties. I just tested and it worked for me. I created a view My Test View and set as default for my primary contact lookup at account entity. Seem Ok to me.

Hi,
As mentioned above that you can not use Personal Views for lookup views, Sub Grid View etc and only can use System Views but you can hide System Views from the users via a Plugin as mentioned in the following post:http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/crm/thread/6e8beb3b-054b-45cb-9f78-238dd1a1538a/#a765e9d9-6b03-4699-84e2-a64447653116

Go to settings --> Customization --> Customize the system --> Entities--> <your entity> --> Views. Then click on "New".
Alternatively when you are in a grid for the entity in question you can click on the "Customize" tab and clcik on "New system view".

If you have the requirement to use a specific view for the lookup view then why do you want to stay with a personal view? You should simply define a system view and use it as Ayaz suggests.

Only with a system view I believe. I suggest you re-create your personal view as a system view.

Thanks.
But, how or where can I save it as a system view?

Hi,
You have to recreate view as System Views only System Views can save as Personal Views but on Personal Views can save as System Views.

You would have to do it manually. Create a new view from the entity customization and re-create the columns and filter criteria. It shouldn't be too long.
