Importing Customizations into a Virtual Environment RRS feed

    I built a test environment on my PC using Microsoft Virtual PC.  I set up CRM on the machine I built and everything appears to be working fine.  All the system jobs appear to be working fine.  However, when I tried to import the customizations I created on another installation that's when I get a problem.  Basically, when I hit the Import Selected Customizations or Import All Customizations everything appears to start of fine.  The dialog box showing the progress bar appears but when it gets to 100% it just seems to sit there and do nothing.  At first I thought it was something to do with the number of customizations I was importing but then I tried to import just one single entity and it did the same.  The status bar gets to 100% and then just sits there.  It doesn't hang as you can move the dialog box around the screen fine.  It's just as though it's waiting for something to happen.

     

    Has anyone else had a similar experience and if so how did they manage to resolve it.  Running CRM 4.0 on a Windows 2003 virtual server with SQL Server 2005 SP2.

  • I've met this before in a Virtual environment, but it seems that the customisations import fine - it's just that the dailog box doesn't close

    Thanks for replying.  I think you may be right.  I tried to import a single entity into the test system and when I checked today it was there.  I will experiment with it and import one or two customizations at a time instead of the whole shooting match.
