Custom Deletion tracking system in Sync Services for ADO.NET RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi experts,

Current architecture of Sync Services for ADO.NET implies usage of special tombstone tables on server side for deletion tracking. We have our own synch framework, and it's concept is based on tombstone tables on client side. We plan to replace our sync framework with Sync Services from Microsoft. Regarding inserts/deletes we already have appropriate columns we can use for it.

I am wondering if it is possible to use tombstone tables on client side in sync services. Does anybody know the most painless way to achieve this?

  • are you going to use the shipping client provider with SSCE as the client database ? there is already a tombstone table created to track deletes in it ( the __sysSyndDeletedRows) and the tracking on client side is already there in the database. so you don't need even to worry about the tracking changes at the client side.

    Thanks
