Windows live is dead but keeps climbing out of the grave RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • With the end of Live Mesh Beta, there is longer any Windows live functionality from behind university, company, medical center or other firewalls/servers. But "sign-in to windows live" windows keep popping up while I'm working with my office PC. Of course you can't sign in to anything "windows live" in this case. What is the best way to kill Windows Live everything for good - especially pop-up sign in windows?

    Thanks

  • Did you install anything other than Live Mesh beta? it sounds very much like you are getting the pop-up from the Windows Live Sign-in assistant. Check your list of installed programs for anything Windows Live. The login prompt for Live Mesh beta did not specifiy to sign into "Windows Live" - it prompted you to sign into Live Mesh.

If you have Windows Live Mail installed for your email, or Windows Live Photo Gallery for photos, these applications allow you to sign into your Windows Live account for added features from the program. You can turn that off in the program options if you are not using the added functionality.

What are you specifically doing when the login prompt appears?
